Simcha Levenberg is a beast.

Simcha is a Legend. I know this because I am him.

Simcha is searching for the meaning of life in Los Angeles. That may be all you need to know. If not, enjoy:

Simcha was born in the Washington D.C. area and spent the formative years of his life in New Jersery. He credits New Jersey with his accent, aggressive driving skills,  and love of flouride.

In the midst of a lackluster High School education, Simcha embarked on a spiritual (read drug enduced) exploration. After extensive reading on various topics included but not limited to sprituality, G-d, world religion, meditation, drugs and the counter-culture, music, and everything written by Tom Robbins; Simcha decided to put his learning to the test through travel. He spent three summers travelling with Phish and the Grateful Dead, attending Rainbow Gatherings, and working at a Holistic Health Center in upstate New York. This is the period of life he termed the , “I’m not gay, I’m just a spiritual warrior.”

It was during these adventures that he discovered a love of people, G-d, the culinary arts, spiritual growth, and nature. Simcha also found that he liked helping other people, improving humanity, and trying to bring about galactic synchronization. After a series of events, both random or otherwise, he discovered Judaism. Although Simcha was born Jewish he overlooked Judaism as a serious method in serving G-d, humanity, and bringing world peace. Ultimately, he discovered that Torah and Mitzvahs are the tools that G-d gave to the Jewish People to facilitate Global Healing. He enrolled in a Rabbinical Seminary in Brooklyn, NY to further his knowledge.

Simcha got married in December of 1998. Simcha was ordained as a Rabbi in 2002.  He spent a five years in western Massachusetts serving as program director of a now defunct seminary for women (BCMA) and a now condemned Chabad House in Amherst.  Simcha doesn’t regret any of his life choices but was keen on his move to Los Angeles in July of 2007. He currently studies improvisational acting at the Groundlings Theater and hones his stand-up with the comedic genius Gerry Katzman. Simcha Levenberg performs stand up throughout the Los Angeles area.
